From the obituary in the Pomona Progress Bulletin of 21 Aug 1972: Martha May Standlee Decker Norton was one of the founding members of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of Los Angeles Unit 8, Division 17. She became fourth state department president of the Auxiliary in 1923 (or was it 1932?) followed by a year of service as national committeewoman and in 1938 was national chairman in charge of the convention held in Los Angeles. In 1939 she held the appointive office of national chaplain and attended the National Defense Conference in Washington, D.C. Martha was a member of the California Second Parlor of the Native Daughters of the Golden West and the Pomona First Baptist Church.
Martha had no children.
